Love this, sounded almost like being on the run and just living free.

Haha, I never had that rebellious side growing up. I had siblings who did, and when they got in trouble, I knew it was better to be the golden child lol.

I was the oldest of five children, and it was always my sisters to flirted with rebellion, not I. but..

then I left home and was free, for a time ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I particularly liked sticking the ending on โ€˜donโ€™t stopโ€™ rather than trail off with a few bars. experimental me :)

Enjoyed this so much!

Roger Browne's avatar

thank you Lea, was experimenting with structure a bit there, glad you liked it!

Lea's avatar

I did. Are you using Suno?

Roger Browne's avatar

I am, yes :) - I was trying out different styles it has built in, and the rhythm of their sample drove those two word sequences in the lyrics and the song built from there. this style was : Acoustic Chicago Blues Cape Verdean, with weirdness 30% and style adherence 80%

When I was acting with a Repertory company, after the show we would sit in the bar and make up blues songs. It reminded me of that.

I can dig it :)

I knew that you could

The rhythm and repetition make this feel like a song that knows exactly what it wants to be. The โ€œParking story / Seeking gloryโ€ refrain is especially catchy. Fun piece, Roger.

The two word chunks in the verses, meant to convey more than their length, was one of the goals there :) getting the girl, being the otherโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Ah, now I see what those two-word chunks were doing! Cleverly packedโ€”and apparently with a mission. ๐Ÿ˜„
